It is hard to believe, but in central Indiana we are all back to school and many schools have been in for several weeks. Over the next month we will providing some red flags to watch for as your child begins the year that we can help with through evaluation and or therapy at TOTS.
We will look into Speech and Language Therapy. We will explore both speech articulation and expressive and receptive language development, norms, and what you can do about it. We will also discuss social skills and pragmatics and what to expect and watch for.
We will look at Occupational Therapy. We will explore sensory deficits and how they may appear in the classroom, handwriting deficits, visual perceptual deficits, executive function deficits, and motor planning deficits and what might be behind them. We will also explore what to expect and watch for.
Finally, we will look at physical therapy. We will look at strength and endurance, balance, gross motor coordination, and motor planning. We will explore what to expect and look for in the classroom and on the playground.
